Portrait Information - Animals
-
I offer several kinds of portrait: pencil drawings, watercolour and oil on board. To commission an animal portrait, please get in touch by sending an email to sarahblomfield@icloud.com. Let me know if you have a deadline, a birthday for example, and I will do my best to fit you in. Please note that from September I begin getting bookings for Christmas. Drawings can be any size up to A2. Oils can be several different sizes, 20cm x 20cm up to 30cm x 40cm.
Taking a good photograph of your dog, cat or horse …
-
It is important that you really like the photo and that it conveys the character of your animal. Take the photograph in good natural light. I like to see some light in the eyes.· Make sure your animal is in focus and fills the frame. Get up close. Please send the highest resolution (the biggest file) you have. Send several photographs – although I work from one image, a collection will give me more information and a better sense of your animal. A useful tip is to put your dog in the boot of a hatchback car with the door open – they are less likely to move and you will have good daylight.
